Purpose
This asana is primarily to stretch the muscles of the legs as well as the arms and upper back.
Stand with legs apart about four feet, keep the feet parallel, keep the pelvis tucked under. Extend
your arms out to the side, Clasp your hands together behind your back. Press your arms together so
that it begins to contract the shoulder blades together. Inhale then exhale and fold forward keeping
your hands clasps and arms strong. Try to bring your arms off your back and over your head if posssible. Hold this position for several breaths gaze straight through the legs.
Take a deep breath then exhale and slowly lift up, keeping the hands clasped.
Beginner modification: This pose may be done with the hands clasped behind the back but continuously
resting on the back as you fold forward.
